Frankie wrote this to his sister in one of his letters:

"Love is there if you want it to be. You just have to see that it's wrapped in beauty and hidden in the seconds of your life. And if you don't let go, forget all the things you assume that define you; and stop for a minute in reflection....you just might miss it. Our parents don't define us, nor do our circumstances, it is only what's in our souls that really tells us that which whom we really are, and have become. You have to let go, and always be thinking forward. "Remember that, "Always be thinking forward".

As I sit on my Florida patio, in the vividly warm Central Florida summer night, sipping on a nice Italian Port wine, smoking a Newport, relishing in my only realm of comfort that can allow me to begin writing my sister on such matters as life and love. I really wish to impress upon you the magnitude and value of hope and patience. These things will help you in your path of life now and in the future. It is so important to me that I know you have chosen a way (in your philosophy) that may cause you to come to appreciate the infinite value of patience and wisdom in your life. To take hold of your time that might unknowingly even in such a tragic circumstance, can be afforded, and to that context, tell you "do in fact", "owe it to yourself", to live by such words as "seize the day", or "don't put off tomorrow what you can do today"!.

Don't ever take any breath for granted, nor any sunrise for happenstance. Just know, and I mean "truly know",....and love the fact: that GOD put these things; be it in the Eastern Sunrise and the Western Sunset, and the glory of the mid-day Sun, or more specifically the routine of all living things accordingly, here, and for you: and even considering that it might be your duty to enjoy each and every moment as it can be presented to you..in all it's glory and humanity, even humility; for this is what is referred to as the human experience. That as long as you are a true believer, and there's nothing, and I mean nothing...that anyone or anything this world can take from you that will change that; that you might be blessed with the most glorious and precious paths that one could walk."

Franklin my beautiful brother by Felicia Ybanez

F-Fighter: From the time we were small children, you have always been a fighter. At times you were the pursuer of injustices; the defender of people unable to fight or fend for themselves. The disadvantaged of this world lost a ture ally when we lost you

R-Resolve: Strong in determination and commitment, you always sought to make a better life for yourself. Ever evoloving into the beautiful man I knew you to be. Though your life was stolen, the investments you made in you future will prevail through those of us left behind; your mother, step-father, sisiters, children, and close friends. We knew you best, love you most, and always desired your happiness.

A-Accomplished: You are so skillful and knowledgeable about what will never be blessed enough to experience. What you deemed important, most men scoff at. (Franklin Ybanez)

N-Notable: You are distinguished in all you do. It is your decision to see past the evils of a man and desire a loving relationship with someone, in my opinion, not worthy. However, you knew God's grace was sufficient and that seemed to be enough. None of us ever would have imagined such horrors of biblical proportion would end your life. My beautiful brother, you were a remarkable man.

K- Knowledgeable: You are so familure with the trappings of this world, yet you didn't let them deter you from overcoming and conquering the challenges in your life. You dug your heels into what ever the task was, learned all you could about it, and became on of the most accomplished men in your field. You knew the character of the men you called your close friends and kept yourself surrounded by the best and the brightest, and you constantly tested your limits. “An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself”. (Albert Camus)

L- Leader: When we were children I followed you everywhere. You tried to teach me everything that I knew about anything. We attended swimming lessons at a nearby pool when we lived in San manual, Arizona and when I couldn't comprehend how to “float like a jellyfish” you guided me. You encouraged me to read and never to give up trying to ride over gravel on my bike. A task I found to be daunting. Later, when we moved back to Kentucky and you had an electric guitar, you would turn on Bon Jovi and act like you were the lead guitarist, but not before you sat me down with a couple of boxes and invisible drum sticks. You conducted our two man band and showed me how to imagine the possibilities.

I-Innovative: No matter the project, wheather it was working out the kinks in one of your toys when you were younger or learning the most modern software on the market, you were a trailblazer. Every time I looked at you I saw your originality. You didn't see chores and work as overwhelming. You looked at everything as a challenge to embark upon.

N- Noble- You were nothing if not decent, kind, honest, dignified, and over all good man. I know that you may have had a difference of opinon with others, but it was only about things you were extremely passionate about. I could talk for hours, days or even weeks about how I adore you, how brilliant you are and how I know now just how connected we all were to you and are still. Your light still shines...you left a remarkable legacy..
